Hazel Thorne wants nothing more than to make her place in the magical world, while Gwendolyn Bishop only wants to run from hers. The two 18-year-old mages will answer the summons for the most coveted entrance exam in North America for two very different reasons. 

But the summoning is just the beginning. 

Dangerous secrets about the magical world lie within St. Elias, secrets history has worked hard to erase. But as vicious attacks and disappearances begin to happen, it becomes clear that someone wants the truth brought to light. While the girls search for their own answers, they keep finding themselves at the heart of these attacks.
